I’ve always loved animals and started drawing them from an early age. Horses were my favourite subject! I studied Art at school to A level. After that, life and work took over!
My love of art was rekindled when I joined Sefton Art Group. After experimenting with different styles and media I started creating animal portraits in pastel.
Pastel is a fantastic medium for painting animals. I love the vibrant colours and the soft fur effects that can be achieved.
I also do portraits in Graphite pencil and ink and watercolour.
Being a member of Sefton Art Group has given me the opportunity to take part in lots of exhibitions including the Sefton Open at The Atkinson, Southport. You can see examples of my artwork, including previous commissions, in Cat Portraits, Dog Portraits, Horse Portraits and Other Work.
If you are interested in having a portrait painted of your pet, please see my Commission a Portrait page for information.

Here is a graphite pencil drawing I did of our old family cat, Mimi. It’s a lovely memory of her and hangs in my mum’s living room.
